Chalupa Na hráni offers comfortable accommodation for large families, several families travelling together, groups of friends or school trips. The ground and first floor were fully renovated in 2020. Guests have 7 rooms across the 1st and 2nd floor at their disposal. On the ground floor you'll find a spacious lounge with a kitchenette, dining area, TV and a large sofa, a playroom with a children's corner, and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside there's a sauna with a bathing pond, a large sunny terrace, a trampoline, a children's playground, a fire pit and a meadow where sheep graze throughout the summer. The pond can be covered with a metal grille for the safety of small children.
Thanks to the layout of the rooms, guests enjoy plenty of privacy while still being able to spend time together around one table, on the terrace or in the lounge.

Time together under one roof
The heart of the cottage is a spacious lounge where the whole group can comfortably gather. It has a kitchenette, dining area, TV and a large sofa, with a playroom and children's corner right next door. Enjoy breakfast together in the morning, plan your next trip in the afternoon, or play board games and chat about the day's adventures in the evening. The space is designed to feel just as welcoming to a family with children as to a group of friends on a weekend getaway.
A fully equipped kitchen for easy cooking
The kitchen is equipped just like home — with a smaller fridge, an oven with hob, a toaster, a kettle, a microwave and a dishwasher. There's also a second large fridge-freezer in the hallway. For your morning coffee there's a Nespresso-compatible capsule machine (older, smaller capsule type) — please bring your own capsules. Please also bring your own dishwasher tablets, or buy them on site for 6 CZK per tablet. Large pans, plenty of dishes, cutlery and pots make cooking for the whole group easy.
Relaxation after a day in the mountains
After a full day of hiking, skiing or a long walk, a moment of calm is very welcome. The cottage features a sauna with the option to cool off in the bathing pond right next to it. The pond can be covered with a metal grille for the safety of small children. While the kids relax in the lounge, you can enjoy some well-deserved relaxation and let the mountain day slowly wind down.
Comfort and amenities for guests
Bed linen is provided in every room, and we also have spare towels for anyone who forgets their own. Beyond the standard capacity, cots can be added to the rooms — we have one travel cot, just let us know when booking. The dining area has 2 children's high chairs, the kitchen has children's cutlery, bowls and plates, and the bathrooms have children's toilet seats and potties. The whole cottage has quality Wi-Fi and good mobile signal for all operators. The cottage is heated ecologically with a heat pump and deep boreholes, keeping it comfortable inside day and night. The entire property is non-smoking.
An outdoor space guests love
One of the great strengths of Chalupa Na hráni is its spacious, sun-facing terrace. All year round it naturally becomes the centre of activity — from morning coffee, through afternoon relaxation, to long evenings with family and friends. There's also a gas grill, an improvised fire pit, a small children's playground and a mountain meadow surrounding the cottage. Quiet hours apply from 11 PM, when the fun moves indoors.
Parking and access
From spring to autumn you can comfortably park up to 5 cars right by the cottage. Please drive very slowly on the access road. In winter you'll need to use the central car park about 1.6 km away. For transporting luggage or people, you can order a snow taxi (TRANSPORT MOTOQUAD VELKÁ ÚPA, snowmobile, quad bike, tel.: +420 603 475 391). The town lies within the Krkonoše National Park, so in summer access to some higher-located cottages requires a purchased entry ticket. The entry ticket machine is located in Velká Úpa at the turn-off to the cottage. Details of the entry fee can be found on the Pec pod Sněžkou town website.
